About us:
At Tumbleweed, we’re building an antigravity machine by making sending anything to space as easy as mailing a package to bring about the era of in-space manufacturing. Our customers make 10x better cancer cures and semiconductors in space, and get there 10x faster and cheaper thanks to our pre-certifi ed and fault-containing satellite and payload containers. We’ve sold out and built our first mission from 0 in 9 months, and our next mission is already filling up.
We’re a small team that have built a space mission in record time, radically focused on executing as fast as we can, always pushing the envelope, and staying kind along the way.
We’re motivated by making the biggest impact on humanity using space, and doing things that have never been done before.
We work with the best and provide them with an environment of total ownership and trust.

About the position
We’ve made space easy to use for Earth industries, and it’s your job to spread the gospel, and get them to actually use it. 10x better cancer drugs, 10x higher yields in biomanufacturing, 10x more efficient semiconductors - these headlines get interest, but the proposition of using space is daunting to a lot of customers.
It’s your job to guide customers through this process, from the first discovery call all the way through the sales cycle. You’ll be a trusted, attentive ear for their concerns, champion their needs internally, and make sure that they can do their groundbreaking work faster and more easily than ever before.
Walk a researcher through why microgravity is the best place to replicate the conditions of aging? Easy. Turn a five minute hallway conversation with a customer into next quarter's product roadmap? All in a day's work. Close a deal with a team trying to cure something no one's cured before? Just another Wednesday.
Responsibilities
GTM and Sales:
- Build and convert our pipeline into paying customers, take deals from first conversation all the way to a signed launch contract
- Assess the needs of each customer, and make sure they get exactly the service that best suits them. Our tech is great, our service needs to be greater.
- Build key relationships with the world’s most renowned research institutions and cutting-edge companies in pharma and biotech.
Customer Advocacy & Market Education
- Champion your customers internally: make sure their requirements, needs and wishes shape our roadmap, not just our sales pitch
- Get global key players and tenured researchers across biotech, pharma, materials science and other key industries excited about what Tumbleweed's Pods make possible, and why manufacturing in microgravity produces better cancer therapies, transforms tissue engineering and space-grown organoids, in a language your audience already speaks
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for obsessive people that want to go to unreasonable lengths to make a positive impact in the world. You should have experience in selling to biotech, pharma or similar high-tech industries, and should be familiar with the basics of RnD processes in these industries.
Why join us?
We are working on the next industrial revolution and a future where anyone can send anything to space, anytime.
You’ll be a part of getting there amongst a tight-knit group of remarkable friends: They’ve founded space companies and published peer-reviewed papers in their teens, built Mars missions in record time and become champions in robotics, rocketry and motorsports.
