Access to space as easy as mailing a package
We give researchers, manufacturers, and R&D teams access to microgravity without requiring them to become an aerospace company to get it.
About Tumbleweed
Microgravity enables breakthroughs in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, semiconductors, and advanced materials.
Yet sending something to space today can take years, millions of euros, and a team of aerospace specialists.
Tumbleweed is changing that.
We are building the infrastructure that allows researchers and companies to send experiments to orbit as easily as mailing a package.
Founded in November 2024, Tumbleweed is a space infrastructure company based in Vienna, with an additional office in Delft, the Netherlands.
Our mission is simple: make access to space as easy as mailing a package.
At the core of the platform are two technologies:
Pod: A modular payload container that allows customers to integrate their experiments without needing aerospace expertise.
Oasis: A free-flying orbital platform designed to host Pods in orbit and return them safely to Earth.
Together, Pod and Oasis create a plug-and-play system for space access, reducing timelines from years to months.
About the Team
Tumbleweed is an interdisciplinary team of 21 engineers and operators with backgrounds in aerospace engineering, mechanical design, embedded systems, and business development.
Headquartered in Vienna, with an additional office in Delft, the team combines experience from the European Space Agency, Thales Alenia Space, Rocket Lab, and leading technical universities.
